You're near Murfreesboro, TN?
Never got below 44 here this weekend (was perfect).

Yes! I got a few squash, tomato and hot pepper plants and had to get up and hose them off before the sun hit them!

Hmm?  Not sure what you're suggesting about frost and sun.
Damage from frost on plants is the same as frostbite on fingers: the cells freeze.
Plant tissues freeze and rupture, which appears as dead leaves.
Tell me what you know.

most of the time if you give them a good drenching of water before the sun hits the frost it minimizes the damage and saves the plants from damage or sure appears to!
I have had very good results with this??
Does it make any sense?

most of the time if you give them a good drenching of water before the sun hits the frost it minimizes the damage and saves the plants from damage or sure appears to!

Likely that the water (from the hose is ~50-55 degrees) warms the leaves and washes away the frost.  The culprit in frost damage is the air temperature, not the frost itself.  The frost is imply frozen dew/humidity.  As the leaves' tissues cool below 32 degrees, the damage to tissues begins.  Cytosol (gooey stuff) in cells doesn't freeze at 32, but a bit below that.  Florida citrus growers spray water on orange trees to coat them with ice (as insulation) to keep the predawn temperatures from freezing and cracking the bark/limbs.

Edit: The frost crystals can penetrate cells of leaves or fruit and damage their surface.  This doesn't kill the plant, but can kill leaves.  So, washing away frost can help, but the damage is likely already done if you see frost.

Likely sublimation of the frost, going from ice to steam without first forming water.  This happens on cold surfaces if suddenly warmed.

I was having flashbacks, reading all that.  Undecided

Good morning, all. I slept in a bit today after all the traveling this weekend. I hope everyone has a great Monday! (great Monday; is that an oxymoron?  )

Cool, Jamos.  Let me know how I can help.

BTW, Chaac is here (wind, lightning, rain...).  At least he gave us a good weekend.
I think Chaac needs to join CRS so we can give him some e-creds
