TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Pass-happy offenses make for happy cornerbacks. Alabama cornerback DeQuan Menzie was ecstatic coming into Saturday's game against Arkansas.

"They throw, what, a hundred balls a game?" Menzie said, exaggerating only slightly. "We were expecting to get something out of it."

Menzie got the pivotal play - a 25-yard interception return - in the third-ranked Crimson Tide's 38-14 victory.

Alabama had just taken a 10-7 lead midway through the second quarter, but settling for a field goal after three runs failed from inside the 1-yard line was a downer for the Tide's offense and a lift for the 14th-ranked Razorbacks (3-1).

On the next series, Arkansas faced third-and-7 from its 23-yard line. Tyler Wilson targeted Greg Childs, but the senior wide receiver appeared to cut his route short.

Here came the ball. There was Menzie.

"I didn't see the ball until the last minute," said the senior, who appeared to hit the ball with his right forearm. "I popped it up and saw the ball in the air. I saw the touchdown, and I took off."
