I guess they are doing these in segments of 20. I can't get #80 and below. The Tommy Lewis tackle of Rice's running back Dickie Maegle was #95.

#98 Oct. 20, 1928: Gene McEver returned the game's opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to help Tennessee beat heavily favored Alabama 15-13 at Denny Field in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The game rekindled the Alabama-Tennessee series, and the Vols and their third-year coach, Robert Neyland, launched themselves into the upper tier of Southern college football powerhouses. That win was also part of a 33-game stretch in which Tennessee didn't lose a game from 1926-30.

#95 95. Out Of Bounds
Dickie Maegle awarded TD after illegal tackle
Jan. 1, 1954: With Rice leading 7-6, Owls star Dickie Maegle caught a kickoff at his 5-yard line and took off down the Alabama sideline. Tide fullback Tommy Lewis, watching from the sideline, would have none of it. Lewis, sans helmet, raced onto the field and flattened Maegle just past midfield. The officials, sticklers for rules, awarded Maegle the touchdown. Lewis gained celebrity that remains unwanted to this day. His explanation: "I guess I'm too full of Alabama."

 A Rolling Moss
Randy Moss takes screen pass the distance
Sept. 6, 1997: Marshall was playing its second game as an FBS program, and Randy Moss made it memorable with two long touchdowns -- but this one was especially good. On a third-and-6 from the Marshall 10-yard line, Moss took an inside screen pass from fellow future NFL player Chad Pennington and discovered his teammates had failed to do much blocking. Undeterred, Moss eluded five Army Cadets on the play with a dazzling repertoir of cuts, hurdles and stiff-arms and undiluted speed. Goodbye, defense. Hello, world.

Oct. 31, 1959: In perhaps the most famous play in SEC history, LSU's Billy Cannon broke seven tackles in taking back a punt 89 yards for a touchdown on Halloween night to lift No. 1-ranked LSU to a 7-3 victory over No. 3-ranked Ole Miss at Tiger Stadium. He fielded the punt on the bounce at his own 11 and began shedding Ole Miss defenders before finally breaking into the clear. Cannon won the Heisman Trophy that season.

Jan. 1, 1972: Defending champion Nebraska entered the game undefeated staring across at No. 2 Alabama and Bear Bryant, carrying an 11-0 record. This one was over quickly, though, courtesy of a Johnny Rodgers 77-yard punt return on the final play of the first quarter that put Nebraska up 14-0 on the way to a 38-6 win for a national title. The Huskers led 28-0 at the half after adding 14 points in the second quarter.

Dec. 3, 1983: A year after leading Auburn to a victory over rival Alabama with a last-minute touchdown run in the Iron Bowl, Tigers running back Bo Jackson ran for 256 yards and two touchdowns in a 23-20 win over the Crimson Tide in 1983. Alabama, in its first season under coach Ray Perkins, took a 20-16 lead late in the second half. But then Jackson scored on a 71-yard touchdown run, giving the Tigers their first SEC title since 1957 and a Sugar Bowl appearance.

#61 Johnny Mack Brown seals Alabama win in Rose Bowl
Jan. 1, 1926: Alabama wasn't the first or even third choice for the 1926 Rose Bowl, and even after Alabama accepted the invitation, many thought bringing a team from the South would hurt the game's tradition. Alabama trailed Washington 12-0 at halftime but scored three touchdowns in the third quarter. Pooley Hubert's 61-yard touchdown pass to Johnny Mack Brown cemented Alabama's 20-19 victory and is considered by some to be the play that elevated Southern football.

Absolutely true. It was according to my grandfather.

Don't know where WV is today, so I'll pick up where he left off.

47. Run In The Mud
Ken Stabler runs in lone score in Iron Bowl clash
Dec. 2, 1967: The playing surface at Legion Field had turned into a quagmire after days of rain, and neither offense could get untracked. Alabama finally got some decent field position after a mishandled punt snap, and quarterback Ken Stabler capitalized with his fabled "Run in the Mud." He kept the ball on an option play, got key blocks from Dennis Holman and Mike Hall and romped through the mud for the only touchdown of the game in a 7-3 win over Auburn.

46. Silence Is Golden
Don Hutson grabs long TD after miscommunication
Jan. 1, 1935: Late in the first half of the 1935 Rose Bowl against Stanford, Alabama coach Frank Thomas, nursing a 16-7 lead, sent end Don Hutson onto the field to tell quarterback Joe Riley to run the ball. However, NCAA rules didn't allow players entering the game to speak until one play elapsed. Riley, seeing his All-American teammate, assumed Thomas wanted a long pass. The first of Hutson's two long scoring catches sealed Alabama's 29-13 victory.

34. Bootleg Series
Alan Lowry slips past Alabama in Cotton Bowl
Jan. 1, 1973: In what turned out to be the final meeting between coaching giants Bear Bryant and Darrell Royal, Texas quarterback Alan Lowry scored on a 34-yard bootleg with 4:22 to play to beat Alabama 17-13 in the Cotton Bowl. Lowry, playing with tonsillitis, hid the ball on his hip after taking the snap and then hugged the left sideline on his way to the end zone. To this day, Alabama fans insist he stepped out of bounds at the 10.

-- Chris Low

Hmm...I wasn't aware that it was only Alabama fans that saw him step out of bounds. Since it was on national TV, I figured the whole country saw him step out of bounds.

27. Route Sitter
Antonio Langham seals SEC title game with pick-six
Dec. 5, 1992: Florida had been running a similar curl route all game. So this time, Antonio Langham sat on the route and broke just as Florida's Shane Matthews was releasing the ball. Langham easily intercepted the pass and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown with just more than three minutes left, snapping a 21-21 tie and keeping Alabama unbeaten in a thrilling 28-21 victory over Florida in the inaugural SEC championship game in Birmingham, Ala.

I think we all remember this play.

Being married to a husker fan, I get this story ALL the TIME!  Of course, I then ask how many National Championships Nebraska has.... usually shuts him up for a bit :-D

Nov. 23, 1996: It was truly a memorable night in Tuscaloosa. The Tide had to win to return to the SEC championship game and sprang to an early 17-point lead before Auburn scored the next 23. With just minutes left, quarterback Freddie Kitchens took the Tide down the field before throwing a 6-yard touchdown pass to Dennis Riddle with 26 seconds left. An extra point sealed the 24-23 win, and coach Gene Stallings announced he would retire after the bowl game.

They got the location wrong. I was at the game and it was in the Ham. When Riddle went in, the whole student section went crazy. We were hugging people we didn't even know.
