I guess he saw that USC is a train wreck.

Let's see if it sticks.

Yeah, we can hope he stays with Bama.  No way to know how next year will play out, so it's definitely good news.

Let's now recruit some big-time receivers who want to play with him (or Taulia, Braxton, Mac, and/or Paul).

Exactly!  We have some extremely good WRs and I think we will be losing several of them this year so we need to find some tall, fast guys that have good hands and an aggressive mentality. Someone that isn't afraid of getting hit or hitting someone else.

I think recruiting Julio opened the door for these other receiver recruits.  They see the success Julio is having in the NFL, and now Cooper and Ridley, and realize that Bama isn't going to be a rushing first team anymore.

I think we will have WR's stepping up if we make it to the NCG again this year. RTR!

I think we had a hard time getting elite QB and WR, with a few notable exceptions, talent between ‘07-‘15 because of the perception that Bama would never be anything but a run heavy team. Tua and the current crop of WRs have changed that perception. We’ll need to continue to have strong offenses in the years ahead due to the early departures and injuries that have weakened the defense in the past few years.

Even if the kid doesn’t follow through on his commitment the perception that we can attract elite passing talent will be crucial for the coming years.

Good points.

Amazing how fast the NFL has changed at the same time.  Now there are NUMEROUS NFL teams that are successful by passing almost every down.  Why does KC ever run?

And as a result the WRs are top priority in the draft (and trades) now, while RBs are ignored unless they have great receiving skills.  Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry were fortunate to be drafted when they were.  They'd prolly be far down the draft nowadays.

Same with QBs.  Pocket QBs may be gone forever in the draft.

The receivers know all the receiving positions and routes, and which play call could produce a big play for which position.

So apparently they sometimes play rock/paper/scissors to see who gets the prime route.
