Alabama signs No. 1 football recruiting class

For a seventh straight year, Alabama has landed the top recruiting class in the country.

247Sports made the announcement Wednesday afternoon based on its composite rankings. This is the highest-ranked class of the Nick Saban era and the highest-rated class nationally since Florida's class of 2010.

Among the 26 players that signed with Alabama Wednesday are six ranked as five-stars in the 247Sports Composite rankings and 17 rated as four-stars. Running back Najee Harris, offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood and linebacker Dylan Moses are all rated as top-20 recruits nationally.

Doesn't get any better than this.

This class is being referred to as "historic."  I have to say I did not see this coming.  I don't pay all that close attention to recruiting until a few days before NSD, so I didn't have a feel for where we were.  WOW!

It's great to bounce back like this from the NC game.

Looks like Kirby pulled in some good guys too.

Does anybody know...did any SEC teams sign a highly rated QB?

I thought abut Tua as I was typing this post.  Figured everyone would know I meant "other than Bama."  The reason I ask...last year there were very few really good QBs in the SEC.  Doesn't look like that will change much.  (Some of the guys who started last year should get better.)

Barn may have gotten the best 'new' QB in the SEC with the guy who transferred from Baylor.
