With the draft now officially over, which of Bama's five draft picks do you see starting (once the NFL actually decides to play, that is)? My guess is that Marcell is in immediately, and probably Carpenter too. I can't imagine that the Falcons have another receiver as talented as JJ, but there is also a big learning curve. I think JJ doesn't start immediately but gets significant playing time and will be a starter most likely by week five or six. Mark will get a TON of playing time, but I think that Pierre Thomas is still the starter ( at least to begin with). Greg most likely will either be on the scout team or holding a clipboard, unless he shows himself to be significantly better than the other QBs other than Sanchez.

GMac makes Bama's third consecutive QB to reach the NFL. Recruiting poster fodder?

I've been thinking about Greg and the Jets. Even if he gets very little playing time, he will be getting the experience he needs to move up. Who knows? He could be a future NFL Commissioner. He has the brain smarts for the job now. Or perhaps coaching one day down the line.  He seems to have the leadership ability necessary for that job too.  I hope he just soaks it all up. Either way - he gets to tell his grandchildren one day that played in the NFL.  I know in my heart that he will succeed. Smiley

Drafting QBs is extremely complex now.  Their position is changing so fast.  When Michael Vick was drafted everyone wanted an elusive QB with a good arm.  Now the new rules protect the QB much more, but the teams are still drafting the elusive guys first.  Seems to me that brainy QBs with good arms should be in demand now or very soon.  I think GMac is in a good position too, Terrie.

Great new, fresh leggs I think Mark might start. James Carpenter I don't think so but we shall see. Greg is 3 yrs down the road and then he will. JJ is great and will be a 2nd WR until mid-way and then he will start. CNS puts people in the NFL. RTR!
