Rough draw.
It was going to be there or the Southern Bracket, playing Creighton, winner to play Virginia.   :o

(Nine Seed is a tough one, playing the No. 1 team in the second game, although Bama's best tournament was as a 9 seed, when they beat #1 seed Syracuse and kept going.)

Bama beat No 1 overall seed Stanford in the second round. We beat Syracuse in the Sweet 16 to advance to the Elite 8 where we lost to theNCAA Champion UCONN.

I like the way you guys think.  Woot.

Now I've got to shut up my nephew, who is a senior at Virginia Tech.   :lol2: :lol2:

If Bama can get past Va Tech, they'll have to hope Villanova plays like they did against St John's to have a chance. We have to have Donta back or that chance is out the window.

We got in with 19 wins.  Even if we go one & done, to me it was important to get in the dance this year.

Generally, there are no easy games in the dance unless, maybe, if you are a #1 seed.

Would be good to beat VaTech though.

ROLL TIDE!!!

I'm interested to see the gameplan that Coach Avery and his staff can develop.  I'm not convinced that the staff has all the pieces it needs after we've looked mostly lost the last 6 weeks.

No one seems to have noticed or mentioned it, but Petty came on strong in the 2nd half against UK.  If he can make a decent contribution it opens up a lot of options for the offense.

Yeah, he says he thinks the slump is over. If that's true and we get Donta back, I like our chances, at least in the first game.

Was that when he missed the 3ptr by three feet and banked it home?

He went on to score 18 points.  Much better than prior games away from T-town.

I am glad we are in but I can't see us getting very far if we don't have all 5 players. We meeting the best now, and my pick was... RTR!

Coach AJ gave Donta a "60/40" chance of starting.  He did practice today, with no mentions of limitations.

CAJ quote.  We know which KY player he is talking about.

Quote
"And as you can tell in our last game, when you don't have somebody like Donta, that's an all-SEC defensive player, then the guy that he assigned to guard, he'll make seven threes on you, and he'll 20-plus points instead of normal 5 or 7 points."

Interesting.  We have the potential to make a deep run if we are hitting on all cylinders.
