BREAKING NEWS: NCAA settles with A&M; JF will sit 1st half of Rice game.

This might get interesting.  

The NCAA is investigating whether Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel was paid for signing hundreds of autographs on photos and sports memorabilia in January, "Outside the Lines" has learned. Two sources tell "Outside the Lines" that the Texas A&M quarterback agreed to sign memorabilia in exchange for a five-figure flat fee during his trip to Miami for the Discover BCS National Championship. Both sources said they witnessed the signing, though neither saw the actual exchange of money.

Three sources said Manziel signed photographs, footballs, mini football helmets and other items at the request of an autograph broker named Drew Tieman. Two sources, who are aware of the signing arrangement, told "Outside the Lines" that Tieman approached Manziel on Jan. 6, when he landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to attend the game between Alabama and Notre Dame the next day.

This is two years in a row that the school has to make a decision on this guy. The coach saved him last year.

He'll play against us. Even if guilty all he will have to do is pay back the money, and his family has the money, and take a game or two suspension. We are his third game.

This will not end well for JFK. I think the NCAA wants to get someone and that might be him. Remember AJ Greene got 4 game suspension and has to pay back 1000 dollars for signing a jersey and getting paid for it.

From reading the article about him the other day, I would not be surprised if he doesn't just walk away.  They seemed pretty fed up with the NCAA, aTm, and the whole situation.

This USA Today article shows similar examples and the punishment they got.

There are examples in recent college football history of trading memorabilia for cash or other benefits. In 2010 former Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green was suspended four games by the NCAA for selling his 2009 Independence Bowl jersey for $1,000. In 2004, former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith -- who would go on to win the Heisman Trophy two years later -- was suspended for two games for accepting $500 from a Buckeyes booster. In the most prominent and widest recent example, six Ohio State players were suspended for part of the 2011 or 2012 seasons for selling memorabilia or exchanging it for benefits such as tattoos.

Its funny you say that, because I have had some similar thoughts. Seems like he could pull out of school, wait until next January and start the push for getting into the draft. It seems he has no desire to be at aTm, and I wonder if deep down the Aggies are a little tired of his act as well.
