With the drama gone and a year passed, Alan Evans knows his son made right choice going to Alabama

"It's very surreal," Evans says. "I wish Auburn the best; it's our hometown. Then again, when your children make a decision you have to support them, and that's what we are trying to do."

Rashaan Evans is the first known Tigers' legacy to accept an Alabama scholarship offer and suit up for the Crimson Tide. He famously picked the Tide over the hometown Tigers on National Signing Day in 2014. Evans' decision led to a serious backlash in Auburn, with grown men coming up and telling the former five-star prospect that he made the wrong decision.

Evans tweeted last February that people started treating him like he was Satan once he signed with Alabama.

It extended beyond Rashaan.

Alan was made aware of message board posts calling for a boycott of the Evans' convenience store in Auburn. The Evans patriarch wondered last May whether it might be time to leave town. At that point, he said, he realized "you're living in a town where you know you're not hated, but you're not liked."

Aubs can be such loving people!

Indeed, Rashaan made the right decision!  ROLL TIDE!
