I remember that everyone was talking about the surgery not being a good one, and then Tyrone developed infections that wouldn't clear up.  His bones were sticking out of his leg after the injury and the breaks weren't clean so it was probably a real challenge to any surgeon.

Yes, I think... Dr. Fowler at Druid City Hospital...and so glad that our players are no longer sent there for surgery.

Yes, it had to be a challenging surgery, and I don't know if anyone could have corrected it sufficiently for TP to have a playing career.  I personally have no experience with Dr. Fowler, and I don't know any of his patients (unlike many physicians in N.AL).  I've only heard a few rumors.

All I know is that Dr. Andrews & his associates are recognized as some of the best ortho surgeons in the world & St. Vincents & UAB are great hospitals.

And did the turf cause the injury?  I watched it several times, and it's unclear whether the injury resulted from (1) Drake's foot grabbing at the turf (differently from a grass field), or (2) the power and location of the tackler's blow.

Either way, it's terrible.

That injury seemed to take all the fire out of the Bama players.

My two sons had a total of three broken legs similar to KD's. Both sons recovered with no problems but their fractures were not compound fractures, like Protho's where the bone breaks the skin, so the risk from infection wasn't as great. And they were younger but the Dr. Andrews team is supposed to be as good as it gets so maybe KD will be back. Let's hope so. I can tell you first hand that seeing your son's leg turned backward is a sickening feeling.

After my youngest son broke his leg we were waiting in the ER for what seemed like forever for a doctor to show up. Finally, a young woman doctor came in looked at the leg said "Eww" and left. After another long wait, an orthopedic surgeon showed up and took care of my son.

It took about 9 months of rehab before they were full speed again. Both had 4 weeks in a long-leg cast from foot to groin, then another 8 weeks in a lower leg cast.

I don't know Drake at all, but worry about his recovery from another angle.  He's been in the doghouse several times.  Don't know why, but have heard whispers.  I'm hoping he is able to work through rehab without having behavioral issues detrimental to his return.  If he recovers 100% (which he could if the break isn't complex), I'm praying that he survives the time away from football without further incidents.

Kenyan went into surgery late afternoon yesterday. 

It just seems to me that if there was good news...such as he will only be out for the season....some information would have been released to the public by now.   

It could be that the patient and his family have to deal with some things before the rest of the world is told....and he sees it on television.

Yes they do Jamos, Dr. Andrews team was ready and waiting on Kenyon to arrive to the hospital to take immediate action. They took Kenyon in for X-rays and then airlifted him to B'ham. Was Dr. Andrews attend our game or was he in Auburn? If I am not mistaken he is also their Primary Doctor for their team? But Dr. James Andrews is the best at what he does bar none!! I can only pray that he makes a full recovery where he can walk and run normally again. When I heard him holler in agonizing pain my heart dropped to the floor!! Then when I saw his leg, it was OMG!! But when the Ole Miss player kicked at him while he was on the ground writhing in pain my blood boiled. But my thoughts and prayers are now with Kenyon and his family.
