LSU and home cooking , gotta love it ...  Banging your head against the wall.

our boys played hard

the refs played harder

This is one of the biggest things I don't like about basketball.  There is just to much ref opinion involved.  Most close games like this ultimately get decided by which way the ref makes a call.  I'm not saying they intentionally sway the out come of the game.  I'm saying they are human, they make mistakes, and their mistakes impact the outcome more than any other sport.  Had we won, LSU could say the same exact thing.

What a heartbreaker.
Don't put yourself in the position to fall victim. HTH

But they tend to balance themselves, bad calls for and against. Game of averages. Also, you tend to remember the ones that hurt the worst. Also some more, this is one big reason it is so hard to win on the road in SEC hoops. But all in all, the system has integrity and works pretty well.

It does balance out, it is just painful when you are on the wrong end of the average when you are trying to play your way into the tourney.  In short, see my sig.

In football-- and moreso in other conferences-- I've watched officials actively take a hand in making sure the conference leader pulls out a possible upset. The Big East officials were/are especially bad about that and knew where their bread was buttered (and who was signing their paychecks).

I do agree you can not put yourself in position to let the refs take the game from you. In this game LSU could beat and bang on our end and get touch fouls on the other end. LSU shot 37 FT, we shot 19. The difference in the game.

It should have never gone to OT. We blew a 10 point lead with 3:00 to play.

A 10 point lead AND the ball. I think Cooper missed another 3pt. attempt, but I missed it because I had clicked over to Google Images to pick out a dagger.

A very entertaining game to watch, especially the OT's, but once again Bama fails to finish a game.  A 10 point lead with 3 minutes and change left, and once again Bama players take their foot off the gas and allow the other team to play catch-up.  That's the frustrating part.  How many times has that happened this year?  Methinks CAG needs to borrow a page from the CNS playbook, or speech department, plus an offseason conditioning program with an emphasis on finishing what you start.

The good part is the fight the players showed once the game was on the line, Releford's awesome performance, Cooper's ice water veins, Jacobs stepping up his game on offense, though he was unable to stop LSU defensively.

You had to notice, WV, how much easier LSU scored under the basket once Gueye fouled out?
