Unintentionally woke up at 4:00 AM, checked the score, and thought I would stay up for 30-40 minutes to watch the last 16:00 minutes.  It's almost 5:30 now.

I just turned the game on.  I like what I've seen so far.  No way Auburn beats us this time, so this sets up for a big show down with UF for all the marbles.  I have been told by someone who would know, that we do, in fact, have a prayer of a chance to beat them.

Trevor Releford was 14-18 (almost 70%) from the floor including 4-4 on 3s. He shot 4/5 from the foul line with 3 assists. 36 points.

Trevor Releford was 14-18 (almost 70%) from the floor including 4-4 on 3s. He shot 4/5 from the foul line with 3 assists. 36 points.  

Cooper played to win. The 3 pointer to send us to the 3rd OT was clutch if I've ever seen it. I knew Releford would be covered. Lacey cannot hit unless given a chance to square up with balance. Cooper was the guy!
Jacobs forgot he is just a soph. in the OTs. He went head up 3 or four times, scoring all but 1. 10 points--which could have been more if they'd quit throwing him the ball double, and once triple teamed, down low. Dishing to him below the waist is just asking for a strip. Anything the officials gave LSU was kinda made up for by them shooting 10% or less at the line. Lady luck kinda balances things out over time but it hurt the Tide especially hard today.

This is one of the biggest things I don't like about basketball.  There is just to much ref opinion involved.  Most close games like this ultimately get decided by which way the ref makes a call.  I'm not saying they intentionally sway the out come of the game.  I'm saying they are human, they make mistakes, and their mistakes impact the outcome more than any other sport.  Had we won, LSU could say the same exact thing.

What a heartbreaker.
