Quote
For the second time in two weeks, the Alabama men's basketball team will take on the LSU Tigers on Saturday afternoon in an important Southeastern Conference match-up. The contest is set to tipoff at 12:30 p.m. CT from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and will be televised on the SEC Network.

“We’re looking forward to the challenge of going on the road again and playing a team in LSU that is playing really good basketball right now,” UA head coach Anthony Grant said. “They’re winners in two of their last three, six of their last nine. [They’re a] very talented team, as we’re aware of. Last time we played them, a couple of weeks ago, it was a highly contested game. We were fortunate to win as it came down to the final possession of the game. Our guys are familiar with who they are and we understand how difficult it is any time you go on the road in this league so we have to be at our best.”

The Crimson Tide (18-8, 10-3 SEC) enters the game alone in second place overall in the SEC standings. UA is one of the hottest teams in the league, having won four straight and 10 of its last 12 games coming into Saturday’s showdown. Most recently, the Tide captured a 64-56 victory over Mississippi State on Wednesday night. Sophomore guard Rodney Cooper recorded his first career double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while junior guard Trevor Releford added 17 points and five steals.

The most important game of the year so far. We have 5 regular season games remaining and we need to finish strong. A road win at LSU will keep us in the NCAA Tournament discussion. A loss would mean we have to win out including a road trip to Florida.

Jacobs and Steele are questionable. Controling JOB 3 will be important.

Roll Tide. We need a good effort today.

No damage done.

LilBAMAWV has been nursing a bad ankle for the last couple of weeks. He rolled it in a pickup game against some JC guys in Houston. Poor ol' BAMAWV just woke up from a nap and had some breathing difficulties. But, hauling a nebulizer and a 300' drop cord, I'm still pretty sure the two of us could have improved on Bama's 1st half of basketball today at LSU.

Bama down 1-- 3:45 to go--1st half

Gueye hits a 10 footer. He had a 5 footer but decided that was too easy,-- so he dribbled out to 10' and cooly hit the shot.

 Huh?

Now he sits, with 4 PFs.

Releford with the ball as shot clock runs down. I'm thinking this will hurt his 9-10 shooting, but he scores. He now has 26 on 11-12 shooting!  Applause E-Cred

I just turned the game on.  I like what I've seen so far.  No way Auburn beats us this time, so this sets up for a big show down with UF for all the marbles.  I have been told by someone who would know, that we do, in fact, have a prayer of a chance to beat them.

Gueye fouls out but not until he gets used by JOBIII -- tie game. Time out. BAMA on a 3 drought since Releford missed his only miss of the 2nd half. In bounds play-- expecting Releford-- so it'll go to Lacy or Cooper.
