I hope the feds who are investigating this case body slam the crap out of FSU.

Quote
Florida State University officials and Tallahassee police took steps to both hide, and then hinder, the criminal investigation into a rape allegation against the school's Hesiman-trophy winning quarterback Jameis Winston last fall, a FOX Sports investigation has found.

Quote
Two critical witnesses -- Florida State football players who said they were present the morning of the alleged assault -- discussed the case with Winston's lawyer and ultimately signed affidavits at his behest backing the quarterback's version of the incident. That happened before law enforcement officers tried to talk to them about what they saw and remembered, a dramatic road block in the state attorney's effort to determine whether Winston should be charged with rape.

I think FSU is feeling major heat from the feds. I bet they throw Winston under the bus to save their own rear ends.

Florida State officials notified reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston on Friday that he will face a disciplinary hearing into charges about whether he sexually assaulted an FSU student in December 2012.

This story is on the top left corner of the NY Times website, which probably means it's the lead story in Saturday's paper (unless some other story develops to knock it out of that spot.)  This matter is NOT going away quite yet.

Lots of smoke coming out of the Tallahassee wigwams right now.  Usually a sign of fire...

I wish FSU would kick him out, but don't see it happening.  They'll keep him.
ANY other student would have been booted long before now.

If you've followed the Hannah Graham story, the accused knucklehead was booted from 2 colleges (where he was playing football) for sexual assault before the current string of rape and murder.  Schools are usually quick to boot players in such cases; not FSU.

I can't help thinking that this is all for show, and at the end of the day, nothing will change. Or it will take so long that JW will finish his season and get drafted, and political motives will favor letting it drop.

Jameis is in BIG TROUBLE this time.  He isn't going to a trial, he's going before the Disciplinary Committee at FSU.  I've served on those committees.  They are composed of senior faculty, and the decision is simply whether this student violated the code of conduct at 'our school'.  No lawyers (at least when I experienced it).

These are faculty without a sense of humor, often faculty who are nearing retirement, and folks who pass judgement on behavior.  It's not a matter of proving guilt or innocence.  Simply whether evidence shows that this student (Jameis) should be allowed to continue his education.  It's not a right to attend a college, and THEY make the decision.
