What in the world is taping a cleat gonna do. We use to change them out they would just unscrew and put another back on. The managers actually had a little wrench to do that. RTR!

It wasn't to help the shoe/cleat, it was to give his foot some more support/rigidity.

Exactly right.  I've been wearing a compression sleeve on my left foot for about 6 months now while my foot heals up (it is getting much better).  It seems a sleeve/tape around the foot might be more effective than taping the shoe for a foot injury, but you see players tape up shoes all the time to limit any flexion.  Perhaps his injury itself has mostly healed but he lacks some strength in the foot for planting, etc.  The shoe tape would make the shoe/foot one stable unit.

Methinks our Preacher took it literally, confusing the word "cleat" for the projections on the bottom instead of the shoe itself.

Chechem I did think he was talking about the old style cleat like we wore. You remember they screwed on and off on a threaded stud in the bottom of the shoe. RTR!

AMBIGUITY: "cleats" may refer to the shoe/boot or the projections on the bottom.
I don't know how better to explain it!

Tuesday before Arkansas:

Quote
-- It looks like Matt Womack could be the answer at left tackle if Jonah Williams is not available for Saturday's game with Arkansas. Last season's starter at right tackle was taking first-team reps on the left side with Williams recovering from a sprained ankle.

-- Williams was dressed in a white full-contact jersey but wasn't spotted in drills for a second straight day...

I guess Wright don't want to play as bad as it seems he did. Everybody knows breaking CNS rules for team make you miss out on a lot of training time. RTR!

Monday practice before Mizzou:

-- With Trevon Diggs out, the cornerback group during drills was Saivion Smith first and then Patrick Surtain, Josh Jobe, Nigel Knott and D.J. Lewis. Diggs, who suffered a broken foot against Arkansas, is out indefinitely.

-- Reserve tight end Kedrick James wasn't practicing. James has a high ankle sprain...
