Updyke will get all of the credit for this but old age will kill any and everything. Maybe the Barners will put a statue of Updyke on the corner now and paper roll it. :dunno:

I'll admit the finality of this makes me sad at some level. Whatever else we think about the farmily, those damned trees meant a lot to them and someone who represented himself as a Tide fan stupidly and senselessly took that away from them. Had the barners themselves actually burnt them down by accident, I'd still feel a tiny bit bad but mostly I'd think it was hilarious. But since a Tide fan did it, I actually feel a bit sorry for them.

Yeah, I feel bad for their tradition.  This should never have happened.  I hate that this moron from Texas calls himself a Bama fan, when he obviously lacks class.

Of course, Auburn has completely overblown it, their Auburn Tigers wiki page has more on the trees and the poisoning than it does on football, War Eagle, or any other sport!   ???  Obviously, they don't take their football seriously on the plains.
