This is a fascinating article about how the NCAA screwed Robert Parrish (and by extension, screwed Centenary) during his college career. It's nice to see that some things never change. The NCAA has been screwing athletes and universities for decades. Kudos to Centenary for standing up to the NCAA and refusing to back down. I still find it hard to believe that the NCAA thugs are still runing people's lives after all these years and the athletes and schools can't do anything about it. Talk about a government-sanctioned monopoly. The NCAA is an autocratic, unmanageable governing body that is completely out of control. In case you haven't figured it out, I despise the NCAA. (/soapbox) Anyway, it's a great article.

"Scoot over on that soapbox and give me room."

This "vacating of games" is nonsense, especially in this case.  We all know that eventually the Boogers will have to vacate their games for 2010.  But by the time it happens, nobody cares.

The biggest screwing by the NCAA was documented in the HBO special.  Athletes must sign away their rights to their own images, including their likenesses for video games (which produce millions of dollars for the companies and the NCAA).  The players get nothing.  That will eventually end, but for now it's the norm.

I agree with you on the video game thing. That is an absolute joke. Just further proof that the NCAA is only in it for the money they can make off of the players. They knew no one would want to watch a BCS title game without Cam Newton, so poof, Cam is magically reinstated in time for the game. Hypocritical, corrupt, manipulative. All of these things and more perfectly describe the NCAA.

Good thread, I think that maybe, just maybe, the boogers have caused enough of a national fuss for the NCAA to do more than just vacate the games.  I dont know what, but you're right, it means nothing.

The boogers obviously bought and paid for last season and the integrity of college football rides on what teh ncaa does here.

My hope is that the NCAA finds so much evidence against the boogs that they have no choice but to burn them. Because I think the NCAA Is looking for a reason to let them skate.
