Title: This week's playoff rankings
Post by: Catch Prothro on November 24, 2015, 06:22:23 PM
1. Clemson
2. Bama
3. Oklahoma
4.  Iowa
5.  Michigan State
6.  Notre Dame

Here's what jumps out:

1.  This puts Bama v. OK in the first round.  Great revenge factor for Bama, almost as good as OSU.

2.  Notre Dame is dropping despite winning.  Not being part of a conference appears to be the death of their playoff hopes.

3.  Iowa/Michigan State could play each other in the Big10 Championship game with winner take all.  (No way ND is ranked ahead of the winner of that game).

4.  4 Conferences in the drivers seat this year, ACC, SEC, Big12 and Big10, with PAC12 and ND on the outside.

Good analysis unless the monkey wrench gets thrown into the machinery. Like Clemson loses to UNC or even USC. And Iowa loses to Nebraska then Iowa beats Michigan State. And Oklahoma loses to Okie State. And Notre Dame loses to Stanford. And Michigan beats Ohio State. And Florida lose to FSU. And TCU beats Baylor.

Are you questioning Danny Kanell, Joey Galloway, Colin Cowherd and other geniuses who have a deep understanding of football?

Notre Dame beats Stanford on the road, with a backup QB.

Honestly, the only team that worries me is Oklahoma.  I have this feeling we're going to get matched up with them in the first round, and Baker Mayfield is going to play the game of his life the way that good QBs have a habit of doing against Bama.  I know our defense is as good as it's been in years and OU hasn't faced a tough defense all year, but that possibility scares me.  I think we match up well against all of the other possible teams.

Agreed.  Oklahoma is looking good at the end of the year. And they've shown in the past to be a tough match-up for Bama.

I watched a little of the OK game this weekend before Mayfield got hurt. He really looked like a taller Johnny Football.

That worries me.

Choklahoma does not want to play us with something at stake besides a consolation prize.  HTH.

I picked Okla because of how they have played since the
Texas game. Lights out football for sure and plus I would love to see us match up in the first round and knock them out. RTR!
