My Lord do these coaches not know the rules of game or recruiting? This pure craziness like they don't care. RTR!

Is there no bump rule in basketball?  From the article it sounds like the kids initiated the contact.

So, when the kids came up to the coach and asked to take the picture, he should have ignored them and walked away?

We obviously don't know why the coach was there, but I'm thinking about how a situation like that could happen to our coach at any time.  We know Coach Grant went to some of the high school championship tournament games to watch our recruits.  What if a kid comes up to him there and asks to have a picture taken?  He could be a potential recruit, so Coach Grant is supposed to ignore him because it MIGHT be a violation?  If that happened every Bama board in the net would light up with posts about how arrogant and rude Coach Grant is.

No just walking away would be so rude to the young men. I would however, explained the rules to them and not have taken the pic, I wonder how many times CAG has had to explain that to a player. RTR!

Explaining the rules to them is having face to face contact and a violation.  That's the whole point behind the bump rule in football, the coaches are allowed to say hello, sorry I can't really talk to you now and continue on their way.

According to the article, yes.

But according to the NCAA, any face-to-face encounter between a coach and a prospect that takes place at the site of an organized competition involving the prospect or the prospect's high school is a "contact," regardless of the conversation that occurs.
