The first mission of the week for the second-ranked Alabama men's golf team has been accomplished.

The Crimson Tide made the cut to match play at the 2013 NCAA Championships in Milton, Ga.

Alabama shot a 2-over-par 282 Thursday and finished third out of 30 teams. The top eight teams advance to match play. The Tide will be the No. 3 seed.

Cal is the #1 seed and Ga. Tech is #2.

Roll Tide guys!!! Take it all this year!

Alabama did what they had to do to advance to match play. Cal looks strong. The Tournament is being played in Atlanta so I assume it is GA Tech's home course.

Match play is different. Anything can happen. We are right where we need to be.

Bama won their match against New Mexico easily today. They won 4-1. We will play host GA Tech tomorrow on their home course. There are only 4 teams left. A win tomorrow and we advance to the finals.

Our team is pretty good. Don't be surprised if we bring home another trophy.

As close as they came last year (the last putt on the last hole, beat them), I think they have a purpose. I think they'll bring it home. Ga Tech will be tough on their home course, but our guys have played it a few times now, so the advantage is smaller. Roll Tide boys!!

Bama has a 4-0-1 lead in the final holes of their match with host GA Tech.

Illinois beat No. 1 Cal 3-2 in a big upset.

If Bama can hang on to their lead we will play Illinois in the Championship Match tomorrow.

Alabama wins. I'm not sure what they will call the final score. We ended the match with our 3rd point and the remaining matches were both all square still on the course. Alabama may concede those matches for a 3-2 win.

We play for the National championship for the second year in a row.

They posted the final score as 3-0-2, 3 wins, 0 losses and two ties. Ties are 1/2 point so we win 4-1.

I am still shocked No. 1 Cal got beat. They have been on fire all week.
