Title: Rams v 49ers
Post by: Catch Prothro on September 21, 2017, 07:52:53 PM
I see on my TV Guide, LA Rams v. SF 49ers tonight.  Great, I think, a traditional matchup that hasn't been seen since the Rams left for St Louis, at least as a California battle.

But when I turn on the channel, it appears to be anything but traditional.  Rams are wearing neon yellow (think Oregon) uniforms;  SF is in all black with red numbers and red stripes on their pants.  Yuck.

Anyway, score is 7-7, and it is better than watching Charlie Strong's undisciplined USF team take on Temple.

As long as the NFL refuses to address the players that refuse to honor our flag and National Anthem, and our men & women that have served to keep us all safe, I REFUSE to watch any NFL games... Hope you enjoy

Would you also boycott college football if a few players protested?   :-\

I do not like the NFL protests but I still watch it if I have nothing better to do. I love NCAA football and would still watch it but would not like the protests. I watch TV and movies but I do not like most of the actors political views. I wish athletes and entertainers would keep their personnel views to themselves. Most are over paid immature brats that have never worked a real job in their life.

True that.

I think these guys' "message" gets completely lost with their choice of expression.

No argument from me.  I was just curious which was more important to NALT, college football or politics.

What is more important to me is the sacrifice that many men and women paid, the Ultimate Sacrifice, so that idiots like Capernick (or however he spells it) can protest.  It is important to me that we in this country can enjoy all of the freedoms that we do BECAUSE OF THOSE Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Soldiers that served.  I understand WHAT those idiots are protesting, I really do.  I also don't blame them in one aspect.  However, and I really don't want to turn this into a political discussion, there are more blacks killing blacks in the streets of our cities than there are police officers killing blacks.  Why don't these idiots protest that?

Now, to answer your original question.  I honestly don't think that most college football coaches would allow the same type of protests to take place.  Those that did, I would stop watching.  Even if one of those were the Crimson Tide...
