There's only one thing to do at this point:

First, we assume he's fine.
Second, we show him how much we missed him by punking him.

Let's think up a plausible news story, and string together 10-15 posts that become increasingly panicked and which suggest more and more confirming evidence.  It can't be something like Saban leaving. He'd sniff that out immediately. Has to be something more subtle. When he finally does return, he has a minor heart attack, and then we have a big laugh about. Anyone remember any of WV's hot button issues?

Of course we'd have to delete this post and any posts referring to it.

WV dropped a post in "The Big Fish" thread in Ferguson. Guess he's starting slow and working his way back.

                The Babies

Mrs. BAMAWV has been collecting clothing, some from our relatives and some from WVU students, for the needy in our area. Over time, she has managed to dress our trailer parks up in designer gear. Wearing Calvin Klein stuff around in a car that has no matching hub caps. Of course they really enjoyed collecting baby gear to share with the newcomer village idiots. Since our girls had gotten to know the babies and their mothers, concern for their comfort and safety became their focus of attention.

While our home has no AC, we have fans going in almost every room. With the drapes drawn, the afternoon sun is not so bad. By dark, usually, the outside temps have dropped (in this mountainous section of WV) to where a sweat shirt is needed. The woman invited a couple of mothers over to warm up baby formula (house on generator) and from there the idea spread. More babies, then more babies,-- the highest count was 8 babies. A wall of pillows and quilts surrounded BAMAWV's king size bed. Mothers came and went, but the baby formula and diaper changing kept on rolling-- until this afternoon when power to the area was mostly restored.  The girls worked shifts feeding, bathing, and otherwise pampering the neighbor babies. Anytime someone made a store run into Virginia, or some other non affected region, more baby supplies were ordered.

I had the idea, when waking the 1st day of the outage, to take the family camping. But we had one boy missing in the storm and couldn't leave him (if he made it home) to fend for himself. But my camping idea was quickly shot down for
 the baby command center idea.

[Note: One baby in particular was picked to be the most beautiful baby anyone has ever seen. I had heard them (Mrs. BAMAWV and our 2 daughters) talking about this COSMO MAG baby for months. So sometime around Sunday they brought the baby wonder for me to see. Indeed this was one fine baby. Clearly a heartbreaker to be. With our screened in porch crowded with visiting moms and our women folk I wondered to myself how long this could last. Never have I seen that many women talk about another woman (although 4 or 5 months old) without saying anything derogatory. I used my japanese rolex to keep an accurate time and at the 1 minute and 7 second mark it came, "Elf ears!".

FYI, at least three of these Mothers were there not to feed and clothe the baby but to check out your house for their village idiot boyfriend (most likely not married). First time you leave the house all your good stuff will be gone. It never pays to be a good guy.

I thought your wife was Mrs. MARSHALLWV?

Thanks to each one of you for your thoughts. Imagine a society so sissified that peeing in the dark constitutes a state of emergency.  But I was more than a little disappointed that THE Rev. Jackson and Al Sharpton were not here screaming at the top of their lungs, for FEMA to come in to feed, bathe, and house us.  Day 6 brought a national guard truck with a case of bottled water. The radio was announcing free showers at the Middle/High Schools but things will have to get a lot worse before I go shower with my neighbors.

The state of emergency/martial law power grab by the Sheriff's Dept. went over real well. They loud speakered and otherwise announced rules such as no unnecessary driving (unless in itself an emergency), no burning, no fireworks, etc. Folks pretty much ignored all of that.

The Village Idiots turned this into a contest of who could survive best without power. I guess this stems from years of practice, due to not paying their bill.  The woman (Mrs. MARSHALLWV) was coming out of a store and some logger guys where gathering. One said, "Want a hot dog?". They were cooking on his truck's engine block.  The rule around town was that if a dog would drink it, the water was OK and would help your body build up necessary antibodies. There is a hand pumped well at the community cemetary that they call "dead people water". But there are more than a few pipes driven into hillsides that supply spring water that cannot be beat.  One location won a ribbon at a spring water contest in Paris (France).

Again, thank you folks for all your thoughts and prayers!  RTR

Beautiful observations, WV. You obviously survived on your sense of humor and a lot of other good qualities.
