Title: High cancer rates in Fruithurst, AL
Post by: N.AL-Tider on October 13, 2022, 08:13:56 PM
A friend of mine in Kentucky told me about this article. I mentioned to her that I know someone who lives in that area. Preacher, you do live there don't you?

Quote
Nearly 50 per cent of homes sampled between 2017 to 2021 reported at least one cancer diagnosis in the family - with some types of cancer up to 10 times more common than in the rest of the country.

The chief culprit is believed to be a now-shuttered rubber making plant that sits about a mile south of the elementary school - where concentrations of toxic compounds including lead have been found.

The research team have analyzed more than two dozen sites around the area for heavy metals and radioactive material.

 :o  :(

Yes sir I live in Fruithurst and was one of the families they investigated but they don't know if my cancer came from Vietnam or the water here so they only gave us a filtering system for our house. The lawyers had to drop us cause of my military service. We have 3 kids who have died and it is heart wrenching. RTR!

Wow Preacher. I knew that you and Mrs. Dottie have dealt with a lot of physical pain because of your backs and such but that has to cause you more pain than anything.  So sorry that y'all had to endure it. Please pass along my condolences to Mrs. Dottie if you don't mind...
