Yes, I remember my last gym visit. Exactly! I go most every weekday. You see what it's done for me! At least you're used to it. People look at me kind of funny when I have a hard time bench pressing 20 lbs.

Heading to Lake Martin (Dadeville) later this morning. I hope Chaac gives us a break there too. Looking forward to a nice, long holiday weekend between there and Lafayette. I hope everyone has a great Independence Day. Eat lot's of ribs or other BBQ. That is my plan.

I finally started going to the gym this week. I feel like I went 15 rounds with a young Mike Tyson. Good for you. I have joined a gym about 5 years ago and I am hooked. I feel guilty if I miss a day. I go about 4-5 times a week. If you are like me when I started I just walked about watching other people and lifting random weights. You need to find a routine to follow like shoulders one day, chest, back, etc. Never work the same area back to back days. I do not lift anything very heavy but you need to lift enough to get a muscle "burn". If you can not feel it you are not doing it right. I work out first then hit the cardio. If I am pressed for time I skip weights and do only cardio. You will meet a whole different group of friends at the gym. Some of the guys I enjoy talking to are the tattooed muscle men that I would never have met otherwise. You meet all kinds at the gym and that is fun to me.

I found high reps and low weights with good cardio burns more cals than you take in. I would make one suggestion as to what you want to do make sure you take in enough cals and Proteins to maintain muscle mass. RTR!

... Cooking out this weekend, Chech? LF says, "It seems unlikely". Just like a Lucky 8-Ball.I think we're going to The Grove for music and hotdogs (and beer - shhhh ). Then fireworks. Oxford has a great fireworks show each 4th.

Good morning from beautiful Lake Martin! Went out on my BIL's boat yesterday. He took me to some caves where they used to mine gold. I had no idea that Alabama ever had any gold. Here's a pic of one of the caves. You can see my nephew at the mouth of one of them for scale.

Raining here this morning. Cool off and good day to sit on porch in my rocker and read. I was sitting this morning and thinking of the 4th of July. I remembered when I was in service and we were getting ready to go to Vietnam and how scared we all was. It seems funny now but sure wasn't then. Hope everybody has a great day. RTR!
