Fort Pickens Road closed due to hurricane damage.

Banging your head against the wall. Banging your head against the wall. Banging your head against the wall. Banging your head against the wall.

I think we could drive around that damage.  Can't we?

The "road closure" and the pic are from the Pensacola Fishing Forum.  The info was posted yesterday.
CLOSED until further notice:
- Naval Live Oaks day use areas and the exhibit area at Park Headquarters remain closed today as park staff remove debris from the storm and make necessary repairs.
- Fort Pickens Area and Campground.
- Highway 399 (between Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach), Santa Rosa and Opal Beach Day Use Area.

Well, that surprises me. I didn't realize they got that much.

Brewers held on to win 6-5 over the Dodgers last night. Looks like Kershaw is always good for at least one lousy postseason performance.

Good last 2 innings by Dodgers, but too late.

Pickens Road looks like it could be repaired soon, IF THEY WILL DO IT.  As you know, the NPS is slow to do repairs there, and it could take weeks.  I'd like to get down there for fall fishing soon, so hopefully it happens.  And the campground at Pickens needs access, so I'm hoping those folks put pressure on the NPS to speed it up, or at least allow one-way traffic in some stretches as necessary.

This is true, they do take forever to make necessary repairs. I think Ft Pickens was closed for 2-3 years after Ivan hit.

Just saw aerial pics of the San Blas state park.  There's a deep channel across the road, cutting off the entire park from the peninsula.  WOW.

Off to coffee shop to get the inside word from the Rebel supporters.

Good morning folks.  I was awake this morning at 1:30, that is 6:30 back home.  I tried going back to sleep but never did get much more than a good snooze.  Fully awake at 3:30 so I got up.  Thought I'd check in here then head down to the hotel "gym" for a bit...

Oh yeah, no problem.  I'll probably drift off to sleep in the 3rd quarter though...

Laughing  E-cred.

Hey, NALT, go ask if you can mow the motel grass.  That'll make you feel right at home and wake you a bit.  Maybe cut down a few trees.

Great ideas, both of them.  They obviously already cut the grass though.  Or maybe the grass ain't real so it never needs to be cut.  I've never cut down a palm tree.  I wonder how difficult it would be to fell one without hitting the hotel?

Palms are mush, and easily cut.  We cut some in Belize with dull chains.
As for which direction they fall, WTH?  It's not like you own the buildings!!
