TUSCALOOSA -- His arms and legs are wrapped in an elaborate pattern of tattoos dripping from his crimson colored practice jersey and white football pants.

Just like his body ink, few can take their eyes off of Jesse Williams.

When Alabama's defensive lineman recently appeared at the Crimson Tide's pro day, he was barefoot for no apparent reason. One Alabama quipped, "That's just Jesse."

Quote
Alabama has plenty of needs on its defensive line after the early NFL departure of Marcell Dareus and knee problems keeping Kerry Murphy out of spring practice and threatening his future.

Thanks for posting.  I didn't know Murphy was out.

I know that there has been much prior discussion about a nickname for JW. Does anyone know  if one was ever picked?

I wondered about that too , I wish we could get his dad to come on here like he did on TS a few times

Yeah, I was in on that discussion. I had suggested "Donk", the character from "Crocodile Dundee" and Jesse's dad come on the Forum and said he didn't think JW would like that very much. Others suggested "Thunder from down under", but most agreed, that was overused.

"The Embossed Aussie" has a nice ring to it, but isn't exactly a nickname that instills fear in opponents.

Gotta run for now, but let's give it some thought. I'm sure the rest of the group will probably pitch in with suggestions as well.

I was just reading on one of the aussie forums and they seem to be really happy about
Jessie being at Alabama and the good possibility of him following Mount Cody to the NFL .
they are impressed with our fanship and treatment of Jessie ...

I wish we could come up with a good handle for him , maybe something that combines Alabama and
Australia  ... Mount Cody just came natural , Jessie isn't going to be that easy ...

I hope our opponents , especially the SEC ones call him "Rush Hour"    lol   ...  Grin

How about Boomer

Chris Berman and Norman Esiason already lay claim to that. But I do like the "Boom" part.
