Softball Set to Play Six Games in Four Days

The top-ranked Alabama softball team (16-0) will be continuing its homestand this week with six games in four days. The Tide starts with single games against Samford (6-6) on Wednesday, Feb. 27 and South Alabama (13-1) on Thursday, Feb. 28, before moving immediately into the Easton Classic on March 1-2. Iowa State (7-4) and St. John’s (3-7-1) will be participating in the 2013 Easton Classic.

I just wish ESPN or Foxsports would televise more college softball.

Alabama beat Samford on Wednesday and South Alabama yesterday. The Easton Classic continues this weekend with Alabama playing four more games.

ISU had 4 runs on 2 hits (both hits fielded by pitcher), 2 errors, 3 walks and a passed ball. Sloppy play for the No. 1 team in the nation.

Bama only had one hit by Kayla Hunt to lead off the inning. ISU pitcher walked 6 and had 2 HBP.

ISU fails to score in the 3rd. Bama coming to bat in the 4th with a 9-4 lead.

Bama goes to 19-0 on the year.

Leslie Jury got the win. After the bad 2nd inning she settled down. She gave up 4 runs on 4 hits. She struckout 7 and walked 4.

We play St John's next at approximately 5:30.
