It will be very interesting to see what kind of pitching we have, particularly relief pitching.

I think pitching will be the strength of the team. We have a lot of arms this year. We got good/adequate starting pitching last year. Late inning relief pitching sucked and cost us several games. Last years freshmen should be better this year.

We have to score more runs. We did not hit for average or power last year. It showed up in lack of runs and in the loss column. We are counting on a lot of new guys.

CMG needs to show he can coach and develop players. He is on the hot seat IMO.

Yeah, I would certainly think so and you're also right that we need more pop in the lineup. We will need a catcher to emerge as well, with the loss of Wass. That killed us last year, not being able to throw anybody out. Hopefully, with the good recruiting class, he will have some that can contribute right away.

Third Baseman Brett Booth is going to catch until Wass comes back. Booth is out of position at catcher and everyone knows that including our oppontents. Booth is doing all he can to help the team but we need him at 3rd and not behind the plate. Wass should be back for most of the SEC games.

That's good to know. I thought he was out for the season.

There's one other aspect of their game that hurt them last year and that was infield errors, especially in the late innings. So many times last year costly errors was the difference in some games.

After 4 complete innings Bama trails VMI  3-0

Turnbull started gave up 3 runs and was relieved in the 4th by Castillo

2 of the 3 runs were unearned because of a throwing error by 2nd baseman.
