This is a big week for Alabama Baseball.

After the weekend series win against Auburn our RPI is #23. Our SOS is #31.

We went 2-2 last week with a mid week 2-1 loss to UAB and took 2 of 3 from Auburn. Last week we were ranked #9. This week ranking will not be out until later today or Tuesday.

We have a team batting average of .275 and team ERA of 2.36. Our opponents are batting .207 against us with an ERA of 4.71.

We have 5 games this week. Tuesday in Tuscaloosa against Jackson State, Wednesday against UAB at Regions Park in B'ham and a three game series on the road at Tennessee.

Hopefully, we can get a little revenge on UAB. The Tennessee series will be a real test.

Hopefully we can loosen up the bats this week.  Our pitching is good, but timely hitting ...

Just glad we got timely hitting in the 9th against the Aubs!  :lol2:

Justin Kamplain is the "SEC Pitcher of the Week". He was the Saturday starter and got the win pitching 8 2/3 innings giving up only one run in the Tide's 4-1 win.

If this team can get their bats going, Bama can be a force and not just in the SEC.

We did what we needed to do with Jackson State. Put them away with ease without having to use up our pitching staff. Five games in a week is tough on pitching. It just happens to be the strength of our team.

Highlights from the game were a grand slam by Ben Moore and 7 no hit shut out innings in relief to get the win by Tucker Hawley.

It gets more difficult as we travel to Regions Park in B'ham to face UAB. UAB beat us in Tuscaloosa last week. We need to pay them back tonight.

Alabama has not announced the starter for tonight's game (or I missed it).

Poor ole barners lost the series to us last weekend and dropped their mid-game last night to Samford 7-6. Samford beat them for the second time this year. That has to hurt. We beat Samford 12-1 when we played them in Tuscaloosa. We play them again on April 29.

Barn goes to 21-17 on the year. Their chance of making a regional is slipping away.
