I would post this in the board suggestions thread but it's loading so slowly that I can't even get to the last page of that thread for some reason. Is it something on my end or just slow servers? I'm not having this problem on any other sites I don't think. Help....

I have the same problem. I assumked it was my computer or either the site is new and it loads slow.

I think it's the site. This is the only place for me that really loads slow as far as forums go. Can we get this issue looked at?

Sorry guys, it is the server.  The poor thing is being overwhelmed right now (along with me) ;).  I put it on a cheap account to start with until I could find out what the interest level was going to be.  But it is really taking off faster than I ever expected.  I am going to try to put it on a dedicated server as soon as I can, maybe even tonight.  Until then, please just be patient with me.

We are teaching you patience.  8)

Not sure, but I do know the old server was not dedicated, so perhaps one of the shared peeps is just busy during business hours?  Last night there was no issue.

Yes, me too.  I had an award-winning response about breaking news on the Cam investigation, but before I could attach all of the links it SLOWLY told me to be patient, then timed out.

All I know was I saw everybody going over to woolyal for the pronfest.   :(
I didn't know if anyone would even be interested in something like this (i.e. a clean site), plus I was concerned that I may not have something going before the lines of communication were shut down at the old place.

In reality though, we should not be having any trouble at all with the load we are putting on the server.  It is most certainly all of the other peeps on the other servers.  But... that is a problem that can be solved.   8)

It takes me back to the good ole days of dial up. When things were a little slower.

Not all of them... just the pages and PAGES of them who posted on TS on the last few days and where all giddy about naked people and cussing.  My thread about a clean site rolled off the front page pretty quickly.  And there were only... what, maybe 10 or 15 different people who posted in your thread addressed to the "good posters"?

Actually I think this is going to turn out to be a good thing for us.  Maybe all of the people who want to do that will have somewhere they can go for that sort of thing so that when they are over here they can behave themselves.  Maybe.

I agree.  I think there is plenty of room for both boards.  Woolly Al has it's moments, I have read plenty over there.  But it's the wild west for sure that's not for everyone and even if it is it's not always what people want at the time.

OK, guys, I will be building us a dedicated server for the next few hours.  If all goes well I can flip the switch sometime tonight when everybody's asleep.  I will post a notice on here if anyone is still online.

Hopefully when you log on tomorrow you will see a new topic called "Why are pages loading so fast?"   ;D

I think that's just because most of the world is still asleep. 

I am playing around with the new server and so far it is just downright zippy.  This performance problem will go away as soon as I can get everything moved over there.

The main problem with this server is the consistency.  The speed really just depends on how busy all of the other web sites are that live on the same server that we do.

You seem to like cats.  I am allergic.  However, I do have two cats that live on my property, but they are essentially feral as I have never been within 10 feet of them.  My property has a lot of ground cover so I imagine they eat well out there.  They like to lay on my truck.

No, but my best friend has 2, both female.  Totally different personalities.  One dominant, aggressive, high maintenance.  Other is submissive, rolls over to be petted if approached, lies around cowering if approached by the other.  My opinion: look elsewhere for a dog.

Sounds good.  I am golden retriever guy.  But we want one that will live out in the fields.  Goldens want to be right next to their people.  I grew up with German Shepards, they are great dogs.  When I was about 6 the UPS man stopped by and walked up to me to hand me a package.  One of the shepards lept a 6' chain link fence (only time she ever did this in 12 years) and attacked the UPS guy.  She was awesome.

OMG, yes.  Get a golden 100X before getting a heeler.
