Nick Saban doesn't want another Trent Richardson to emerge from his pool of running backs this season.

He doesn't want another Mark Ingram, either.

What the Alabama coach desires is a player -- or two, or three, or four -- to grow into a role and establish his own, unique niche on a 2012 team he has repeatedly said will have its own, unique identity.

"I just think there's an opportunity for another guy who is a different style, who has a different personality, and maybe different characteristics as a runner," Saban said Thursday at SEC Media Days. "They could be offensive players you have that get featured in a little different way and become as productive or more productive in another way....

The "another guy" probably means Saban is still evaluating who will be the second RB.  Hart and Fowler definitely fit the mold of "different characteristics", though in opposite ways, and Yeldon could cause some serious issues for defenses, due to his sheer athleticism and versatility.  I think Lacy returns as the starter and has similar characteristics to Richardson, with an added spin move.
