However, when the Bengals got the ball with 7:43 left in the game, McCarron engineered a 12-play, 80-yard touchdown drive. Ten of the plays were passes, and the former Alabama star completed eight of them.

I went to bed just before this happened. My timing is impeccable.  >:(

So did I. They were called the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cincy's 1st string turned it over early and often.

Nice write-up in this column about AJ.

It was so bad that by the time the Bengals got the ball with 7:43 left in the game, they were down, 25-3, after allowing a safety that came on only McCarron’s seventh snap after taking over at halftime. But McCarron persevered through three holding calls, an illegal formation and the safety when he hit eight of 10 passes for 66 yards while taking the Bengals 80 yards and running back James Wilder’s five-yard touchdown run with 2:45 left in the game.

“He took charge,” Wilder said. “He’s not just one of these guys just making plays. He’s a leader. We’re real tight. That’s the thing I love about him. When I’m in there, I’m making sure no one touches AJ. He’s that guy who brings everybody in if things aren’t going right. ‘Everybody huddle up.’ That’s something you need.”

Sounds like Dalton may be looking over his shoulder before long.

Dude owes me. Watched the whole thing just to see how AJ would do. When folks say that Cincy was terrible, that doesn't really capture it. It was hardly recognizable as football. Against that backdrop, yes the final drive looked pretty impressive. But it was hardly stellar. He seemed to have trouble making his primary throw even when he had the guy. He was late and tentative - not unexpected given his long lay-off. His best hope is to be traded. The O-line was awful.

It won't happen this year. Cincy cut the 3rd string QB today, leaving only Dalton and AJ.
