Dylan Moses announced on Instagram that he will be returning for the 2020 season at Alabama.

Moses had previously stated he would announce his intentions after Alabama’s bowl game. Some analysts had Moses projected as a first round draft pick and the highest rated linebacker.

According to his post, he states he has unfinished business and that the program’s goal is to compete for championships.

Looks like I may be 0-2 on these this week.  :(

If Dylan made the decision to return in part based on a second round grade, and his camp is able to determine that he has a compensable claim on his loss of value policy, then it might make financial sense for him to go ahead and enter the draft and collect on it.

Looks like we will have to monitor his situation until the 20th.

If Dylan has a "compensable claim" based on dropping from 1st round into 2nd, that couldn't that be worth a few million? If so, he would almost have to go to the draft or else he would walk away from that $$$.  That's why he took out the policy in the first place. But it could take a while for this to get worked out.

MONEY, MONEY and MONEY. That is all college sports is about. They don't care about the team anymore. RTR!

So THAT's what is going on.  I saw the blurb on the bottom of the ESPN screen.

Yeah, if he can collect Round 1 money it's a no brainer

Agreed. If he has a policy like that, he's going to make first round money whether he goes in the first round or not. I think his heart was in the right place, and I understand his decision.

'Will he or won't he' works for me. I just hope Leatherwood doesn't do an about face. That would make me 0-3 on these 'returning' threads.

Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses on Friday restated on social media that he'll return for his senior season after his father told ESPN that he's confident that all details involving draft insurance protection for 2020 will be worked out with the university.

Sorry, Chech, I had to un-suspend myself.

Wait, so the university offers draft insurance protection and decides on coverage if a player wants to return?  Clever.
