Quote
STARKVILLE, Miss. — The defensive struggle continued Saturday night.

Snapping out of a late-season slumber, Alabama found just enough offense to escape Starkville with slim title hopes intact.

A 24-7 win over Mississippi State was hardly a masterpiece, but one wasn’t necessary with the Crimson Tide defense on the field.

The Bulldogs mustered just 131 yards — 12 on the ground thanks to five sacks — as the guests responded swiftly to the 9-6 overtime loss to LSU a week earlier. It was still a bit of an adventure for the No. 4 team in the nation.

The editor must have been sleeping in this morning. Or, it was a Fruedian slip.

This is actually a good article written by Michael Casagrande. For those of you who don't know Casagrande lives in Tuscaloosa and is the beat Bama beat writer for several state newspapers including the Anniston Star. He turns in an article and the local paper puts their own title to it. He had it correct in the article. The score error in the title is the Anniston Sports editor fault.

I was picking on a local reporter about a similar gaff in the "Dothan Buzzard," and he informed me that the writer of the article has no control over the title.

45-7 probably got a lot more hits.
