Smitty actually does most of the work now that I have all of those pages done.  I just type in the list of games he sends me, then on game day I have a web page where I type in the final score as each game finishes.  The server does all the calculations to see who wins.

I figure we will do some bowl games, or maybe even all of them.  I am open to suggestions.

I have also been thinking about doing a basketball contest.  Would anybody be interested in that?

I would also like to have some sort of March Madness tournament game in place in time for this year.  I am getting pretty close to having the recruiting stuff ready to turn on, so I guess the tournament can be my next project.  Busy, busy, busy.

Maybe we should start fresh with the bowls. Not a continuation of the weekly contest. Is there enough room on sidebar for 35 games? Take out the poll, ecred count for bowl season (your ecred count is still below your screen name)? Decide on whether or not to require all picks in BEFORE first game. Lines must be locked in, after contest first released. Continue the weekly contest to include conference championships. Decide on whether to pick bowls with or without spread (hard enough to pick head up). Just some thoughts. HTH

Head up is a lot less work since we wouldn't have to track the lines for all of those games.

Wooooot! Daddo 2Stater in the Top 5! Props, Pops. Have some additional e-creds from your favorite daughter (don't worry, I would never tell the other two - what they don't know can't crush them)! Applause E-Cred

Grin Thank you sweety. However finishing in the top 5 with a 5-5 record is much like coming closest to the GS-Bama score with a prediction of 48-7, which, unfortunately, is the case. I'll take the props since you are my blood, but I ain't real proud of my prognostications. I feel like Nostradumbass.  Embarrassed

My Daddy told me it's all about perspective. You're looking at it from one angle: A 50% on a test is a failing grade.
Another angle: Let's say a curve is established based on this week's top dude - HL missed two. There's some basic percentage math and other factors, but the way I look at it, everybody gets two freebies that don't count against them. So, based on the curve, you made a 70% on this week's test. Not something you haul azz home to show Dad, but you know what they say, "C's get degrees." (Scary when you think about surgeons and bell curves, huh?)
My angle: You graduated #5 in your class of 24. That means you were smarter (i.e. prognosticated better) than approximately 80% of your class.

My Daddy's, like, way smart and stuff. Cheesy

Sounds like somebody is wanting an all expenses paid trip to the Battle of New Orleans for Christmas.

Well, I already have my two front teeth, and I sold my hula hoop on EBay to put towards WV's Christmas Miracle Fund. (Sorry, WV, I have no self-control and it's pathetic...I am mad at myself.)

Actually SC, I failed with a 50, too, and wanted to share how I coped with my own Nostradumbass prognostications. I just bombed the bonus question. Shoulda cheated but Hannibal had his giant foam finger over his paper.  Tongue

We could always run off the CBS or Fox or ESPN pools. You need 1 person to be group manager. They sometimes give away personal info for someone, for instance, that has already created a ESPN log in. Real names, maybe e-mail.

 Huh? Huh?

I like picking bowl games. Maybe we could break the bowl games up. Do an early one for the games nobody cares about anyway and then have a second one for the good games.

Basketball contest sounds good. March madness is good but I could go for a weekly contest too.

I might let you peek next week if you ask nicely.  We could always do the 3rd grade "I'll show you mine if you...."    Lips Sealed
