Title: Alabama wins SEC Gymnastics Championship!!!

These are still unofficial, but here are the team scores:

1. Alabama 197.225
2. Florida 196.975
3. Georgia 196.625
4. Arkansas 195.800
5. LSU 195.475
6. Auburn 195.325
7. Kentucky 193.950


Three of the 5 individual championships were also won by Alabama.


Cassidy McComb (39.450) Georgia won the All-Around with both Alabama gymnasts Kayla Hoffman (39.350) and Geralen Stack-Eaton (39.350) tied for third.


 Kayla Hoffman (9.950), Alabama is the SEC Champion on the Vault.  Marissa Gutierrez and Geralen Stack-Eaton (9.900), Alabama, and six other gymnasts tied for second.



Geralen Stack-Eaton (9.925), Alabama is the SEC Champion on the Balance Beam.  Sarah DeMeo and Kim Jacob (9.900), Alabama tied for 2nd with 2 other gymnasts.

Geralen Stack-Eaton shares the SEC Championship on Floor Exercise with Florida’s Ashanee Dickerson – both scored a meet high 9.925.

.250 is close  Not razor thin but close.  I'd say it's comparable to winning by a field goal in football.

The wonderful thing is that our girls weren't perfect tonight.  They really could have done better.

The wonderful thing is that our girls weren't perfect tonight.  They really could have done better.  

Would you say that we beat Georgia by a touchdown and the rest of them by double-digits?

The field they beat to win the SEC Championship is tougher than any NCAA Regional they will face. They are a good bet to make to to the NCAA Finals again this year.

I just checked the conference championship roundup.  The only other conference with a score above 197 was Oregon State in the PAC 10.  The NCAA Championship will come probably come down to Alabama,  Oregon State, Florida, Stanford, Oklahoma, and UCLA. 

The regional meets will be announced later this week, I'll post that information when it's available.
