At least for this year...

Other rule changes listed in link.

I expect the officials will be watching the O-line a bit closer this year based on the attention this has received in the off season.

Interesting wording in the quote below.  The conference or school can choose to have an eight man officiating crew.  I'm curious as to how that will work.

An eight-person officiating system will be allowed if a conference or school chooses.

I sure hope you're right, Red. The HUNH teams have been getting away with murder with the downfield lineman. If I was a betting man, I would wager that we will have that 8th ref against the HUNH teams at BDS this year.

Maybe we could have gotten a rule change if CNS had maybe made a few statements that he had rather keep the rule as is. Wink

If ESPN wanted to get into this rule debate, they could put a 3-yd stripe on screen and easily see if the linemen are going past it.

That's a capital idea! I wish they would.

With the line of scrimmage stripe (black), the first down stripe (yellow), the field goal range stripe (green), maybe a red zone stripe (red?) ...  that would be a lot of stripes.   Laughing

True. If they did it, it would be shown on replays.
