Obviously a lot can happen between now and the end of the year, but as it stands now five of the BCS conferences have potential undefeated teams.  Bama and LSU in the SEC, Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. in the Big 12(10), Wisconsin in the Big 10(12), Clemson and Georgia Tech in the ACC, and Stanford in PAC 12.  There seems to be such a significant talent drop-off between the top and second-tier teams this year that it isn't a stretch to see this scenario playing out.

Obviously the SEC winner would get in if this were to happen and OU/OSU would probably get the other spot.  There have been one-loss teams left out for another one-loss team, but I don't think we've seen an undefeated major conference team left out since the BCS started.  What would happen if one or more BCS conference teams go undefeated and don't get to play for the championship?  Nothing, or beginning of the end for the BCS?

Clemson and Ga. Tech will likely play twice, once during regular season and once in the conference championship. I see them splitting that, so those 2 may be a non-factor. Wisconsin still has road games at Michigan State, Ohio State and Illinois, all games they should win, but a likely upset in at least 1 of the 3. It should come down to the SEC/Big 12. As you point out, however, there are no certainties. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Speaking of those two teams (though slightly off topic), I was looking at how the ACC splits its divisions and it is even more strange than I realized. Clemson is in the same division with Maryland and BC but not Tech. Seems like it would make more sense to put FSU, Miami, GT, Clemson and two of the Carolina teams in one division, and then put other two Carolina teams in with UVA, Va Tech, Maryland and BC.

But that one doesn't count because nobody cared.

What if the Big 12 and SEC have one undefeated team and Boise State is undefeated, now what? The media is going to eat this up. RTR!

Boise will still miss out because their SOS will be in the negative range.

Honestly at this point I'd almost like to see Bama face Boise in the BCSCG, beat them by 50 points and end the discussion about whether or not they belong.

Also you make harvesting potatoes somehow derogatory. I DIG poatoes. Great source of potassium. Can't explain the blue football field though.
