I am not seeing Kiffin's name coming up on any short list for coaching jobs at Oregon State, Colorado State or any open job. I think he stays at least one more year and maybe two. I do not know how long it will take before he gets another shot as a HC at a big school. He could go to a Colorado State type team or to the pros as a top assistant. He may be cocky when he is interviewed but the guy can coach coach QB's and offensive football.

Alabama's program didn't see it coming (Kiffin), essentially a runoff head coach, was hired by Nick Saban to guide his offense.

"He is exactly what I thought he was, does what I expected him to do," Saban said of Kiffin the day before the SEC title game. "I got exactly what I expected. I don't think anybody else expected what I expected, to the point where I even got criticized for doing it by a lot of people.

"But I got what I expected. You all didn't get what you expected."

I know everyone is speculating as to how long CLK will be at Bama and as everyone is thinking he will be a head coach in the near future, but I'm not so sure of that. After reading the article below on Al.com, I'm not so sure he's in any hurry to be a head coach again.

On being an assistant instead of worrying about the whole program:

One of the million things I feel I was spending more time in player development, even in the game, because as the head coach, you can't do what I do now. I sit with Blake Sims, Amari Cooper the entire game when the defense is out there and we don't get up until we have the ball going over everything, adjustments, things we do. It's been fun to be able to do that again, also to learn from coach Saban. He's just unbelievable.

CLK is seeing what he helped build along with CNS this year. I think he knows he has hit a homerun here and ain't nowhere near ready to walk away. I can see another thing kind of like the head coach he had at USCw and the dynasty there. Look out, he with a better head coach now than ever before. I don't look for him to leave anytime soon. Next year will be a monster offense. RTR!

A friend of mine earlier this season said that Kiffin is "poison."  Under Coach Saban I think that poison has been neutralized...

I think he has been humbled. It is a big blow to the ego to get fired at the airport tarmac.

I imagine he has enjoyed this year. He should be proud of the job he has done with our offense and the development of Blake Sims into an All-SEC QB. It is the first time since he left USC as a coordinator in 2006 that he has not been under a tremendous amount of HC pressure to win.

I think he will get another opportunity to be a HC at some point in the future if that is what he wants to do. IMO he will leave Alabama 1) for a HC job, 2) lateral move to a west coast school because his family wants him to 3) assistant job in the pros as an OC or QB coach.

There's an old saying about being happy.  Something like, "If Mama ain't happy; nobody happy."  I agree that Lane is having fun playing among the boys as OC.  But there's money out there being offered.
