Title: Alabama running backs Drake, Tenpenny spend Thursday practice at study table
Post by: Jamos on April 18, 2014, 07:46:11 AM
Alabama running backs Altee Tenpenny and Kenyan Drake missed Thursday's practice because they "didn't do what they were supposed to do in school this week," coach Nick Saban said.

Instead, they spent their time at "study table."

"If they don't stay over there for four hours, they probably won't play in the spring game," Saban said. "I'd rather do it now than during the season."

These two player's names seem to pop up too frequent in the daily news for reasons that tend me to believe that their future as a Bama player is really on the very edge of ending. I may be over reacting but it seems they're in the CNS doghouse constantly. I just wonder when CNS says enough is enough. :dunno:

This is not good. They both need to be walking a straight line because they have little room for error.

If skipping a class or two or failing to turn in an assignment is the worst these two do for the next couple or three years then I'm ok with it.

I'm not. See Jamos post on The Battle Plan. We have high standards for our students athletes.

Totally agree. It is so disturbing to see two players with so much talent & potential blowing it.

I get the feeling the Drake thinks he can make it in the NFL, regardless if he plays or not at Bama. That seems to be the mind set that he has, IMO. He needs to realize that loads of talent, alone, won't get it.

I sat next to one of his ex high school classmates at a softball game recently and she said that he had his way in high school concerning getting the grades that he needed. She and her mother had seen him recently and they told him then they he had better get serious with his grades or he would be history at Bama.
