On Wednesday, the tight end from Ballwin, Mo., got the offer from assistant coach Bobby Williams. He made the trip down with family over the weekend and committed on Friday, a day before he saw the Crimson Tide's A-Day Game played in front of an announced 65,000 people.

Sunday, he had time to catch his breath and reflect over a whirlwind week. He booked the trip before he got the offer, but once the offer came, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Scales knew where he wanted to play college football.

Yesterday when our son and wife were checking in at the airport in Birmingham there was a young man with Bama gear standing in line with them and naturally my son had to Roll Tide him and strike up a conversation with him. The young man introduced himself as being Brendan Scales and my son told him that he had him on his cell phone. They had a very nice 10-15 minute chat and my son asked him was he going to be one of those that he would hate later on for changing his mind about coming to Bama. Brendan answered that no he would not be one of them as he would not be taking any more recruiting visits with any other schools and he was very happy to know he would be attending the University of Alabama.

Great stuff, J! You're son is a chip off the ole block. When he gets to be your age, he'll know everybody, too!  :D

Every time I go somewhere with Jamos, it seems like everybody knows him. Think I'll nickname him "The Pope".  :lol2:

Have an e-cred!  #+
