Longtime assistant Bobby Williams will move to an off-the-field position after nine years at Alabama....

Williams has coached under Saban at Michigan State, LSU and the Miami Dolphins before joining Alabama's staff in 2008.

"My relationship with Bobby goes back a long time," Saban said. "Bobby has been a key piece of our staff as we worked to build this program to compete at a national championship level. Even though he won't be on the field coaching, he will be vital to our success in this role as special assistant to the head coach."

He'll now have the title of special assistant to the head coach.

Well, we won't have CBW to kick around anymore.

No announcement on who will coach special teams??

Good question for 1/3 of a program, the kicking game.

Might as well be 'Special Assistance Towards the Alabama Retirement Program'.  He only has to put in two more years.  CNS rewarding loyalty.

Bingo! It will give him 10 years of to qualify but I think he has to be 60 to draw it. He's 57 right now.

I am now looking forward to spring practice to see how Special Teams do. I also look forward to seeing how our offensive line does for the RB's this year. I guess who is going to be the leader on the Line is my big question? RTR!

I usually have low expectations for any coach in his first year due to having to introduce a new way of doing things.

I understand what your saying MD. I just wonder if the experience this new coach has under CNS would give him a head up on making things line up? RTR!

So many "analysts" & "experts" see Saban as an unfeeling, don't care robot. This shows his true decency & concern for others.
