Two great stories here. Captain Jack's neighbor has a little bitty dog that loves swimming and hates Pelicans. Look closely and you can see the little guy swimming after the Pelican.

This is a Manatee that is below Captain Jack's dock. I thought he was there to eat one of the many Tarpon that visit there or maybe the leftovers that Capt. Jack throws in the water, while cleaning the fish. Nope, he's there to bask in the cool sink water that runs off right where Capt. Jack cleans the fish. He shows up nearly every afternoon.

The last night in the Keys was spent at the "Islomadora Fish Company" restaurant. An outdoor restaurant. This was taken right at sunset. Very beautiful place. Food was outstanding.

Silly me thought the bad weather was over. We are under a severe thunderstorm warning currently and conditions are getting bad. Looking at the radar, Tuscaloosa has some suspicious looking cells heading that way again.

J. what did you find out about Woodland Forest?

The tornado didn't get on the ground but was about roof level when doing all of it's damage. A lot of trees were blown down along with the utility poles. The heavier damage was along Hargrove Rd East but extended all the way to the club house at WFCC. I was told there is a lot of tree damage on the back side. I couldn't drive down Hargrove this morning to see the extent of the damage because the poloce had it blocked and I didn't have time to go around the damage and come in. It almost followed the exact path, within 3/8 of a mile, of the tornado that killed 11 people about 5-6 years ago, it hit Hillcrest High School that time. That includes where it first started as well and then it moving on to Birmingham and doing a lot of damage, talked about history repeating itself.

So they're edible, eh?  Who'd have known!

Permit are protected in Belize, and illegal to kill/eat, because they're a game species.  So are Tarpon and Bonefish.

A big ole grouper that Ricky Bobby (his fishing nickname) caught. He was let go.

Looks like a Goliath Grouper (aka. Jewfish).

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!! Lol, you are correct. I was joking with the Captain and Miss cheerleader about how the Jewfish got it's name. They didn't know so I told them it's because when you get them in the boat (which in reality, is a no-no), They look at you and say (in my thickest New York accent) "You never write, you never call". I sometimes kid Captain Jack and Miss cheerleader.

J, I hate to hear about Woodland Forest. I hope damage wasn't too bad. Update us when you can.

Brrrrr, it's a chilly 49 degrees this morning.  But at least the rain is gone.

Today should be beautiful.

It stormed all night long here. I haven't had a chance to check how much rain we've had, but it was at 11 inches at 10 o' clock last night. Thunder and lightning like I've never seen. I'm still hearing thunder as I post this. I think I'll turn on the TV and see what all is flooded/ damaged. I hope everybody has a good day.

I saw on the national news that the Florida panhandle got 11" also.  That is crazy!!
A man was washed away and rescued near Mobile last night.  I couldn't find a video for it, but it made national news.  He had to be rescued twice the same night!

Morning everyone. Coffee

2, that is a lot of rain with nowhere for it to go, hopefully that weather front will move on out today and give all of you some relief. We had some rain last night but it was a much quieter night compared the the night before. It's too bad that you had such a wonderful trip and had to come back to such a mess of weather.

Everyone be safe today and enjoy as much as possible. Pray

The panhandle is shut down. Channel 3 said some areas had 2 feet of rain. I'm quite sure that's about what we had here. Pictures are horrible around town with all the flooding. I've never seen anything like it.

A car dealership in P'cola.

Downtown is completely flooded.

All schools and most businesses are closed. Cordova Mall parking lot is under water and the Dillards there is flooded.
