Title: Note Regarding Woolly Al
Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 08, 2011, 01:30:05 PM
It has come to my attention that there have been some posts on our site that are not accurate reflections of www.woollyal.com.  I want to publicy apologize for misrepresenting their site.  I may have mentioned somewhere that there is nudity over at their site, and that we would not allow that sort of thing here.  We want our site to be safe to browse with your kids looking over your shoulder.

However I have spoken with the people who run woolly al and they pointed out that there isn't any nudity at there site.  So I apologize for saying that there was... I stand corrected.  I have never seen any nudity over there myself.  I was simply basing my comment on all of the things that I read on tidesports that last weekend.  There were a lot of people posting on tidesports that they were happy to have a site that wasn't censored where they could post "naked people and cuss".

Uh, OK. You have no need to apologize SC. Let's leave it at that.

I think some of the confusion may have been in the very beginning when tidesports suddenly closed before he got control over said nudity.  I think they got 400 new users the first day.  It is my understanding there is a special section for the nudity that not everyone has access to.

Ahh... that explains a lot.  Back when I was hearing all of this he had just been over run by all of the homeless tidesports posters, so I guess they were probably a little overwhelmed there for a few days.

But in any case, I am glad we have both sites.  People who want an adult oriented site can go there.  People who don't can come here.  It makes it easier for both places I think.

yes Supercoach that sounds right. I love the idea of my grandkids coming on the site and keeping up with Alabama Sports. You know it is sad but if most kids find a nudity place they will go there and gauk. RTR!

I think having 2 sites is great. I personally post on both and they both bring a good thing by uniting bama fans on the interwebs since TS closed the free forums.

I do as well. I kinda feel like "Good" William Shatner and "Bad" William Shatner in the Priceline commercials as I go between the 2 forums. :P

I didn't post over there after a few days.  The avatars were enough to do me in.... :o.  To me, it is a site mainly for men.....like a wild bar on the corner. :D

Haha too funny. I'm just glad that people were there to step up when TS closed down. Both sites cater to different needs. Is there more language there, yes. But I'm not going to judge fellow bama fans and how they choose to talk.

It is a bit of a testostofest over there. My guess is there are younger posters there and maybe a little older, more mature crowd here for the most part, CP.

That was my thought Stater.  It is a crowd of mostly younger males. The forum owner may even be a college student.  Just a guess. The format is nicely put together.  Ten Hoor was the building where I had most of my classes....and the other forum names are good too.

What I really like about this site is that people can state an honest opinion without getting flamed by some professed know-it-all. Even TS became a little tedious with that.

Yes, it was getting pretty bad over there.  I never posted that last year after they reset our accounts up until the day they announced they were going to shut it down.  I think a lot of the good posters dropped out the last year or two because they didn't want to have to deal with the constant flame wars.

Flame wars suck. If you have inside info you don't have to announce it with a bullhorn everyday. We'll be able to figure out by the content of the posts.

Well we have the most knowledgeable people here right now leading our initial posts. They are willing to work and go out and find these topics. Kudos to them all for their work. There are so many different opinions to all topics and we realize that and it makes discussion so much more fun. RTR!

I think both sites serve a greater purpose, to give those of us abandoned by TS a new place to post free of charge. I posted mostly on Woolly for the first week or so, but I have since grown much fonder of this site. Not that I will never post on WA again, but CRS is a much more friendly neighborhood.

The world would be a better place if we were all more neighborly.

And my students would be much better off if Mr. Rogers were still a part of every preschoolers day.

Man I loved that train to the land of make believe of whatever it was called.

Did y'all hear the story about the guy who stole Mr. Rogers Cadillac?  He returned it the next day with an apology saying he didn't know it was his.

It was the neighborhood of make believe.  I have a couple of vhs tapes of episodes that I pull out for nostalgia's sake and to show my students what they're missing.

Did you manage to get yourself suspended?

I was out when my grandfather passed away and three of my students were suspended.  It was 2 months later when I found out what they did......  they had a group "pee in the trash can" moment
