Use to store my coffee in the Folgers container that comes in when it is
purchased. I would place the container on a cabinet shelf until each morning.

A manager at a business where I use to work, would place the Folgers coffee
in the plastic tub in refrigerator every day for storage.

He reasoned that keeping the coffee in the refrigerator would keep it fresher

Now since I buy Eight O’clock coffee and it doesn’t come in a plastic tub, I
empty the Eight O'clock coffee into a gallon size zip lock bag

Then I place the zip lock bag into an empty Folgers tub, put lid on it and into
refrigerator it goes.

To me it does appear to keep coffee fresher and keeps the smell and taste longer.

People please put your thoughts down about keeping coffee fresh and your
storage methods.

Thank You and Merry Christmas!!

I alternate between Eight O'clock and Royal Cup.  I order Royal Cup by the case and it comes in individual vaccum packed  pot sized packages.  I keep the packages in a large tupper ware container on a pantry shelf.  For the Eight o'clock, I have an air tight acrylic jar with a clamp lid.  I don't keep either in the ref.

Does that lid have metal bracket that locks lid down with pressure.

Have you ever tried keeping coffe in the frig?

Wifey drinks coffee from containers like these. She has a Krueger coffee maker that brews individual cups. I am a Diet Coke guy. I quit drinking coffee 17 years ago.

Someone gave my wife a glass jar coffee container with clap down lid. The package said it is designed to keep coffee fresh. We are using that container now. We have tried a tupperware bowl with lid placed in the frig. To be honest I can not tell any difference from when we just used the can placed on a kitchen shelf.

If you are not a daily drinker and keep coffee around for awhile storage might be more important.

Yeah, the lid has a metal bracket and a thick plastic seal.

I've tried keeping it in the frig from time to time but I can't tell that it makes much difference.

I keep my coffee in the refrigerator in a Folgers tub inside a zip-loc bag. I talked to a friends sister this weekend. They are from Fairhope Alabama and were visiting for the Holidays. Anyway she said they keep their coffee in the freezer in a zip-loc bag inside a container. So I bought some coffee Saturday and am trying the freezer method out. I will report the results of freezer storage when the coffee I am storing in the refrigerator is all used up.

A'ight....I keep the whole beans in the bag I bought them in (squeeze what air out I can) and I put that bag in the freezer. I grind up as much as I need to make what I am making right then.  It really sucks and it is a lot of hassle BUT it's a situation where I tried it and got spoiled.

In college I was a barista and we stored whole beans acrylic containers in a cabinet. We ground up for each pot and for espresso would grind up some for a shift BUT I was really the only person who gave a crap about cleaning machines and keeping things sanitary. The things I have seen would help you kick a frou-frou coffee habit.  I'll drink brewed coffee away from home but none of the fancy drinks.  You guys would not believe *shudder*.
