Even Lane Kiffin never got a DUI while coaching at Bama...

So does this arrest mean that we will likely get a new OC and DC for this coming season? ???

I don't expect him to be fired assuming there isn't additional details to the story.  With such a low bond ($500), there must not be.  He'll likely have to do some remedial tasks like classes or counseling, and his contract may be altered.

Just my guess anyway.

Here's your answer about Saban firing Golding:

Quote
Saban discussed Golding’s contributions to the team and recruiting abilities on Wednesday in talking about the Crimson Tide’s second-ranked recruiting class.

“I think Pete has a great personality. I think he spends a lot of time with players,” Saban said. “And I think it’s all about relationships. I know that we have a good product here. Pete does a great job of selling that product.

“But I think in the end, the players know that he cares about them.”

Some of you fellas like to take an awfully hard line on a person who makes a mistake.  Pete needs to be reprimanded, which he will be by both the legal system and the University no doubt.

IMO, assuming it's an outlying event in the nature of his normal behavior, it should end there.  For those of you saying someone in the position of a role model has to be promptly axed, I'd offer that the lesson of what you do AFTER you screw up is what makes a man.   We all screw up.

I would not say he is in the position of a role model.

More like CFO of a multinational corporation.

He has a responsibility to make good decisions.

Actually, like 1.5 million reasons to make good decisions.

Plus perks and benefits.

I did not realize he was under 40.

Even so, he should have known better and he definitely can afford to pay for a ride.

Driving through Northport is always a bad idea, even if you are sober.

How many times has this happened and he not been caught?

Glad nobody was hurt.

I trust Coach Saban, but people lose jobs b/c of DUIs all of the time.
