starting QB Deondre Francois off the team.
The Seminoles head coach broke the news in a statement released to the media on Sunday afternoon. Taggart mentions in the statement that Francois was informed of his decision Saturday night.
"Last night, I informed Deondre Francois that he is no longer a member of the Florida State football program. As we build a new culture and foundation for FSU Football, we have high expectations for all of our student-athletes and we will not shy away from those high standards of conduct. We are moving forward as a program."
The dismissal comes after girl friend shared video with audio of a female voice pleading “stop hitting me” along with threats from a male voice to continue to hitting and beating the woman. Neither Francois nor the victim can be seen in the video. The accompanying caption accuses Francois of two years of domestic abuse in the relationship.
