Interesting.

With Indianapolis one victory from reaching the Super Bowl, running back Trent Richardson wants what's best for the Colts. But the former Alabama star also doesn't expect to be on the bench again when his team plays the New England Patriots for the AFC championship on Sunday.

I really hope that I am wrong, but I wonder if what has happened to Trent is the same thing that happened to Shawn Alexander: lost his heart for football.

Shawn actually lost a step and couldn't make the cuts that he used to, after his serious injury. I think Trent has lost a step too. Just don't know why.

I think TR is the type of back, similar to Henry, who needs to get up a head of steam.  Like a freight train.  Despite Henry's size and power, we saw how Yeldon is actually a better back between the tackles than Henry because he can make quicker cuts in the gap.  Kiffin addressed this by running more sweeps with Henry, giving him the opportunity to get moving.

At Bama, TR had an awesome offensive line that gave him that space.  We don't have the same OLine.  I think TR could be successful with a team that ran a power running type of offense, but with the Colts he has a pass first offensive line that isn't quite as powerful, and his weaknesses have been exposed.  I hope he gets traded to a team that can make better use of his talents.

Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson missed Saturday's walk-through in Indianapolis and will miss Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots because of a family situation.

"I had to miss walk-through," Richardson told ESPN.com on Sunday. "I'm dealing with a very serious family emergency. I'm still at the hospital. I wouldn't purposely just miss walk-through."

Good for him for putting his mother before everything. Sounds like he could have and should have reached out more to his team about it. Sorry for his loss. There's no goo time to lose your mamma.
