Auburn basketball players Earnest Ross, Ty Armstrong leaving program

The barn's leading scorer and rebounder from last year is leaving the team. Barbee has his work cut out for him to turn that mess of a program around.

Armstrong's departure was not a surprise. The loss of Ross, however, was.

The two departures solve the mystery of who would be cut to make room for Auburn's incoming signees, but it might create new problems in replacing Ross, who was at times Auburn's only offensive threat last season.

Ross averaged 13.1 points per game and 6.6 rebounds. He shot 79.3 percent from the foul line, 11th best in the SEC.

I know they got the two guys from B'ham that were 3 stars. Overall it was well below SEC standards. I think 8 teams in the SEC made the Rivals top 25 recruiting classes and they were not one of them. I don't think the new 8,000 seat gym is working for them.
