TUSCALOOSA | Less than 48 hours removed from a stinging loss in the semifinal round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament, the University of Alabama softball team should find something to cheer about tonight.
The Crimson Tide (46-8) will find out who, where and when it will play in the NCAA Tournament when the 64-team field is announced.
With a resume that includes the SEC regular-season title and the No. 3 spot in the final official RPI (ratings percentage index) rankings - the only rankings that are part of the selection process - Alabama is hopeful of landing a top-eight seed and the chance to play at home in both the regional and super regional rounds of the postseason.
